About the Artist
Mary Scoggins is an extremely active artist who enjoys oil painting again after a 30-year hiatus. To stay healthy in both mind and body, she walks three miles each day, volunteers in her community, gardens, and enjoys a vegetarian diet.
Mary is also a professional pet sitter, providing in-home, overnight care for pets--always with lots of pampering. If these pets could talk, they'd tell you it was like being with their favorite grandmother.
Mary's oil paintings, featuring landscapes, botanicals, pets, waterscapes, or still lifes, are available by commission.

Poppies on the Trail
An avid gardener, Mary sponsors a garden on the B & A Trail in Severna Park, Maryland. Once a historic railroad path, this trail is popular with walkers, runners, cyclists, and rollerbladers. Whether taking a stroll along the trail or walking a dog, Mary will often stop to sketch flowers and scenes that catch her attention. Once home, she refers to the sketch to create original works of art.
